ISLAMABAD – The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that operation against terrorists was continuing across Pakistan under the National Action Plan (NAP).
Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Affairs Marryam Aurangzeb, while replying to a question, said steps and efforts of the federal government to control incidents of terrorism in Karachi had proved to be very. Acts of terrorism had dropped by 77 per cent, target killings by 69 per cent, kidnappings for ransom by 90 per cent and extortion by 60 per cent in Karachi, she said.
She said that the NAP was being implemented in all the four provinces, including Punjab where number of terrorists had been arrested in targeted operation. She said that target operations, registration of seminaries and actions against hate speech and material were being carried out in the country. He said the NAB was also taking action against the corrupt in Punjab.
