KARACHI – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that decisions in his party are made through collective consultations in the greater interests of the masses and the party leadership will take all the workers onboard in the decision-making process like in the past.
In a press statement issued here, Bilawal said that being a mainstream party with ground-level roots in all the four provinces, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA, there was no match to the PPP in struggle, sacrifices and performance for restoration and strengthening democracy and protection of the rights of downtrodden and barefoot masses.
Referring to recent reports in the media, the PPP chairman said that his father, former President Asif Ali Zardari, and he himself have been working together, continue to work together and it is only together that we can succeed. He said that we are working like a well-integrated team and history records that former president Asif Ali Zardari has always enjoyed a great respect among the masses and workers for his brave struggle and steadfastness during imprisonments.
Wisdom and sagacity displayed by him in the aftermath of martyrdom of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the way he put democracy on track and shed his own powers as president to strengthen the Parliament have proved him to be a giant asset for the party and the entire country, PPP chairman said.
Bilawal further said that changes in the organisation remain a continuous exercise and all such decisions would be made through mutual consent and consultation within the party as both the old and young faces would work together for the emancipation of the people from poverty, illiteracy, extremism and terrorism.
