LARKANA: The number of patients to Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Larkana, is increasing day by day as 32,201 patients were examined at 15 Out-Patients Departments of the hospital in the month of August.
The patients were examined at different departments including medical, psychiatric, paeds surgery, chest, ENT, Diabetic, orthopedic, general surgery and eye ailments. The people of Larkana showed their concern over this increase in the number of patients and said the preventive authorities of District Health Office, Larkana, are not doing their duties efficiently.
The Head of Departments (HODs) of almost all wards of the CMCH arrive very late at OPDs, and leave before the closing hours. ‘The authorities must take notice of this issue that irks patients, and the staff of the hospital should be held accountable for their negligence,’ said a patient.
Meanwhile, as many as 32,201 patients were examined at 15 Out-Patients Departments of CMCH in August, and out of them 14,540 were males, 14,326 females and 3345 were children.
The OPD patients of Paeds Medicine, Dermatology, Urology Departments and Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women are not included in this OPD numbers.
According to details, 6808 patients (3077 males and 3731 females) were examined at Medical OPD, while in Psychiatry 1819 patients (887 males and 932 females) were examined. Similarly, in Paeds Surgery as many as 1632 patients (235 males, 831 females and 566 children) were examined and in Neuromedicine department 800 patients (250 males, 350 females, and 200 children) were examined. In Chest OPD, 2216 patients (978 males, 866 females and 366 children) were examined, and in ENT OPD 6080 patients (2678 males, 2256 females and 1152 children) were examined.
In the Oncology department, 911 cancer patients (402 males, 399 females and 110 children) were examined, while in diabetic OPD 1546 patients (632 males, 870 females and 44 children) were given treatment.
In cardiology department, 520 heart patients (300 males, 200 females and 20 children) were examined and in Physiotherapy 701 patients (411 males, 260 females and 30 children) were examined. In orthopedics surgery OPD, 3069 patients (1302 males, 1133 females and 627 children) were examined. As many as 469 TB patients (261 males and 208 females) visited TB Dots OPD in the said period. In Neurosurgery OPD, 580 patients (201 males, 190 females and 80 children) were examined, and in general surgery 2000 patients (900 males and 1100 females) were examined.
In the eye OPD, 3150 patients (2000 males, 1000 women and 150 children) were examined in the said month.
