QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri strongly reacted to Brahumdagh Bugti’s statement and said that his statement is proof of Indian RAW’s (Research and Wing Analysis) involvement in citing violence in Pakistan.
He further said that no interference by India or Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Pakistan’s affairs would be tolerated. He said that no Balochi favour’s Modi’s agenda and there is no support for Modi in Balochistan.
He said that it is now easier to see who the enemies of the state are as they are on one side and those sincere to the country are on the other. Earlier, the Balochis held severe protest against Modi. They chanted anti-Modi slogans and also burned his puppets.
Political analysts also expressed severe disapproval of the statement by Bugti. Brig (retd) Haris Nawaz said while talking to ARY news that the recent turn of events had presented an excellent opportunity for Islamabad to resolve all grievances with Balochistan and show the world how strongly Balochis are integrated with Pakistan.
He said that the grievances and the insecurities of the Balochi people are very small and can be easily resolved. “Now is the time to solve those issues and integrate Balochistan.” He insisted that the intention of Indians and the anti-state elements was to divert the world’s attention from Kashmir towards Balochistan.
He added that such elements also wanted to hamper China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said, “If Pakistan, a Muslim country and a nuclear power, becomes economically developed and becomes financially strong, then we would think about our own country and take decisions better for our own country. Indians and some other countries do not want to see that happen.”
Brig Haris added that Zehri was not only the chief minister of Balochistan but also an influential leader, therefore his statement comes as a strong response to India and to anti-state elements. He said that all the strategies of all those who were trying to harm Pakistan’s progress had backfired and they had to go on backfoot. Therefore, he said, this opportunity should not be wasted and grievances of the Balochi people should be resolved at the earliest.
The political scientist and analyst, Hassan Askari, also spoke on the issue and said that Balochistan’s reaction to Bugti’s and Modi’s statements was a good indication and the Balochi people play a very important part in the progress of CPEC. He said that CPEC was significant for both Pakistan and China and with the completion of CPEC Gwadar port would become operational as an international port. He said that to hamper the CPEC project was the primary intention of the anti-state elements when they gave pro-Modi statements.
